Day 118 (65): A Trip Worth Going

Woke up at 7AM and got ready for the Glasgow city rush. How fast we move, the time always move faster. Nevertheless, we got to visit some of the important places in Glasgow. First stop was a long long walk to the east, to the Glasgow Necropolis area.

We reached the Glasgow Cathedral quite early, thus depriving us the chance of visiting the interior of the building (sobs, Internet pictures of its interior is so so nice). There are also renovation works on parts of the cathedral, therefore not much nice image available from the front of the building.

Entering the necropolis, greenery greets us. Crossing a stone bridge and we arrive at this little hill, stationing various monument and also a large cemetery. Got some nice photos while breathing the fresh morning air, enjoying the cool breeze.

As we are rushing, we got to our next stop, one we had came the night before - the Glasgow City Chamber and followed by the Gallery of Modern Art. Only exterior pictures of these buildings is worth mentioning here as the art and I do not understand each other.

Walking towards the quayside, we were disappointed by the closure of St Andrew's Cathedral due to restoration work. =.= We went for lunch at this KFC just a stone throw away from Glasgow Central Station.

After lunch, we rushed back to the hotel under the rain and made it to the bus just in time. T.T My clothes was wet and I shivered in the bus. Lucky for me the sun shines brightly at the stop at Moffat. The souvenirs here are freakishly expensive. It seems that someone needs to help me to buy the sporran while visiting Edinburgh.

We set our foot at Windermere Lake, a part of Lake District after a few hours down south. This is the largest lake in England (not UK) and the scenery in the early evening is just nice for photo shootings. Took some nice photos beside the lake and also the small town around it. This was the last destination of the Scotland tour.

Returning home, viewed the updates on Facebook of the past three days where I absented myself from the virtual world. For the overall, the trip is just so so, with exception of Edinburgh, but the GBPs spent to get to know so many new friends is totally worth it. May this be the beginning of our eternal friendship.
