Day 58 (5): Pondering Pound

Yesterday, I wrote that diary post too soon. ^^ My friends and I went to this Vietnamese Restaurant to have our dinner. This time, we ordered 5 different dishes, shared among 10 person. We got it all into our stomach this time. Yesterday was a satisfying day.



GBP3 for a meal of that scale, it is really worth it. Let's not convert it. It will be worthwhile too if we convert it into RM. I am quite amaze by the price of goods here. Malaysian can easily got rich here as the expenditure is so low. In contrast, the pay here is good.

Of most items I had explored, the price is being very reasonable (or I can say unreasonably low). Clothes, food, entertainment. Everything (maybe not). When I first come here, I really tend to convert price, but now, I never do that again. Why waste my time doing worthless maths question? GBP1 for 6-pack Light Coke (The price printed is not what I paid). What can I say?


An end to my perception on expenditure here. Now, about my day. Usual. Waited at foyer, went to class, went shopping and food searching. =.= One special stuff that happen today is the food part. We went to the pizza shop again and this time the boss is there.

I ordered a set meal and tried to finish it myself as everyone had already paired. Definitely won't finish it. LOLx My set meal consisted of 1 piece of grilled chicken, strips of doner, potato wedges and chips. I did swallow all the meat and wedges thou. ^^


With the boss (from India) somewhat happy today, we got free soft drinks and I chose 7-up. With continuous praising of the boss by HuiYin, we get more perks than expected. Free doner, extra cheese on pizza and even got to take pictures with the grilling tools (and with the owner too).


The people here is just so friendly and they don't mind giving freebies to customers. As what David says, "They really don't know business." I think they know business, by capturing the hearts of the customer. I will definitely go back for more. ^^ There's free newspapers at the shop too.

Another thing that I am grateful today is for the repairman to had fixed my clogging shower sink. Finally, I am able to get a long, hot and nice bath. Just loving it. This is so satisfying that I think for me to miss the welcome party is totally justified. I don't like parties in anyway though.

Now, typing this crap early again as I had been on the snooze at about 11PM nowadays. No time to write right before the day changes. Will go wash my clothes downstairs later.

Today, I finally felt amazing in UK. Hope that this feeling continues. Hemp, wait till the assignment floods in. =.=
