Arabian Sunshine And English Air

The journey to the west had begun! Started my journey from home to KLIA to board the plane to Dubai before taking a connecting flight to Manchester and subsequently to Sheffield by coach.

The drive from Melaka to KLIA was quite fast and we got there so early that there was so much time to spare after dinner at the airport's food court. Said good bye to my family members and I am on my own (I was always so, just not that far from home).

After checking-in the airport, we just slack around McD and let the time passed. We board the train to the terminal at about 1AM and enter the waiting lounge for a while before the doors to heaven opened.

I enter an airplane for the first time and the feeling was just so... normal. Not that much excitement, it will be more thrilling if one is traveling by bus. LOLx Anyhow, first time is still the first time and photos are needed to be taken as a proof of losing my airplane virginity. =.= Thanks TongSeng for the photo.

I only took a few photos but the girls took really a hell lot of photos. SS Queen LiCheng even used my hand phone to take her ss-ing photos after exhausting hers. =.= Below is one of her photo still in my hp. ^^ So narcissistic.

Forget the narcissist, let's get back to the plane. Our group of classmates took the plane by Emirates, which seems prestigious but not so erm... prestigious. Let's see the good stuff first before I complain.

Firstly, there is this nice TV set in front of our seats. We can switch channels to view different movies, listen to music, play games and even see the front and downwards views of the airplane. Cool stuff. I got to finish Old Dogs and The Blind Side in the two flights.

The take off from KLIA was smooth, by a handsome pilot. Just few minutes after take off, we are served with some snacks and the snacks are quite nice. A combination of two different sandwiches is so tasty. We are also being served different kind of fruit juice. I took orange and pineapple juice which is just satisfying. ^^

After that snack, I tried to sleep and somehow quite successfully close my eyes although LiYong always knocked my elbow when she was adjusting her blanket. =.= Eventually woke up by the breakfast. Seriously from that point, I think Emirates are trying to feed us to death.

After the meal, I just can't get back to sleep with the limited space and uncomfortable seats. So, I had to pass my time with Old Dogs. The plane reached Dubai International Airport just as I finish the movie. We landed smoothly just before dawn and we experienced the sunrise in the sunny Dubai.

As our connecting flight to Manchester is 3 hours away, we get to stroll around the modern infrastructure. It was really amazing. If you think KLIA is huge, then this airport is mammoth-ly humongous. The glass building is so bling bling and the design is so nice.

David and I walked around the airport looking for money changer and visit some of the stores. We found quite a lot of interesting stuff there (One of it is the Nestle product below, Nido =.=) and explore the different denominations of Dirhams.

We boarded our connecting plane when the gate's open. This plane sucks and it's scary too. =.= The take off didn't seems smooth, as if the plane skidded a bit (Not sure if it is me psychologically or really skidded) before take off.

It is even harder to sleep as the sunlight is so bright. There were a meal and a snack provided but I did not took any pictures as I was not in any mood to eat anymore. This plane's design was a bit better with the ceiling have shining stars. LOLx But it seems kinda weird during the day. I finished The Blind Side just before landing.

We landed in Manchester Airport at about 1PM and the landing was just rough. Thumbs down. =.= The airport was beautiful and there are green grasses everywhere. We passed the custom at ease. ^^ After we claimed our luggage, we are greeted by some SHU student crew.

Waited for everyone to come out before we departed by coach to Sheffield. Took a lot of photos, but all not available in my hp. T.T Our journey started with some highways before some mountainous routes along the countryside.

The countryside is just so beautiful. We got to see large fields with no edges, river by the valley and also forest that you can't find in Malaysia. In the edgeless field, there are also sheep, cows and ducks that are amazingly cute as compared to what we seen in Malaysia. Maybe it is true that the grass is greener on the other side.

Other than the nature, we also got to see some suburb housing area which are all so heritage-looking. I was told that they can't simply modify or flooring the building. The house is certainly my type of house.

We are also amaze by what retailers are doing here. TESCO even have petrol station selling the lowest price petrol. @@ Really WTF... We are looking amaze at the TESCO petrol station not because of TESCO but we saw a Proton Saga in UK. Astonishing! =.= Malaysia Boleh!

We arrived at our target location and that's the end of the beginning of our journey. ^^ Hopefully the three months stay here will be a worthy one. More pictures will be added on my Facebook album after I got the photos from friends. ^^
