One of the movie in my must-watch list is being screened just now on TV2. The national station is screening pretty much nice movies recently and today, "A Beautiful Mind" is on air.

The movie is loosely based on a real life person, Nobel Prize winner John Forbes Nash, Jr. Who? Remember when we study economics? Nash Equilibrium? Get it? Nash. He also came out with the Game Theory, which portrayed in the movie when he came out with it while his gang is courting a group of girls.

The story is on his life, mostly on his paranoid schizophrenia, where he imagines stuff that is not real. Working for the government, Russian spies and even a imaginary roommate since his university years at Princeton. A Ron Howard movie, with Russell Crowe (of "Gladiator" and "Robin Hood") being the lead man, who I can say quite a success.

The story began with his university years where he tries to come out with original materials for publication. And with success of the Game Theory that change the view in economics, the government sought his help and subsequent was visited by an government official. Then there were his life, marriage, mental rehab, lecturing and in the end as we would all know, got the prestigious Nobel Prize.

The supporting cast for this movie are heavyweights, starting with the ever-entertaining Paul Bettany - the wacky Geoffrey Chaucer in "A Knight's Tale", Silas of "The Da Vinci Code" and the lead in "Creation", Charles Darwin. Bettany is Nash's imaginary roommate that followed him for life, another great portrayal by an excellent actor.

Bettany's gorgeous wife, Jennifer Connelly, is the lead actress. The actress of "Hulk" and "Creation"'s fame portrayed Nash's wife whom he met at university. As a student who catches his lecturer's interest, they subsequently got married. Nash was quite odd while with girls, just like me, but he is luckier than me. T.T Alicia Nash had to endure his husband condition but had always stand by his side.

Ed Harris (of "The Rock") and Christopher Plummer (of erm... countless movies), the senior superstars, round out the cast with Harris portraying the government official in Nash's illusion and Plummer the doctor that helped him throughout his life.

A really good cast for a really good movie, by a really good director. What more can I say? Recommended. But be reminded that this movie is about a life of a "boring" person, and it may be quite slow pace at some part. Okay, maybe most parts, but it is really worth the time. ^^
