Walker Art Gallery

I'm an artistic person. What a statement, it gave me goosebumps. =.= Although I don't really paint, but I admire art. That's why my second destination in Liverpool is Walker Art Gallery, a building just a stone throw away from World Museum Liverpool.

Entering the building, I went straight up to the top floor where I was greeted with many paintings hanging around the wall up the stairs. Most of the paintings are larger than a human, maybe even two.

Following the floor plan, I went into the Modern & Contemporary rooms with paintings that are of more recent times, including Ben Johnson's and also artwork of John Moores Prize winner. There is this Loophonium that won one of the biennial prize. The sound it produced was excellent.

Walking along the 4 rooms under this category, I also come across this painting of 2008's Liverpool landscape. Very real.

I continued walking pass rooms after rooms, admiring more modern artworks and those from the 18th century. Followed these rooms are rooms with paintings of famous painters from the 17th century, including Rembrandt.

Finally, I got into rooms that hold my favourite art, the Renaissance's. ^^ Most of the art revolved around the birth to the death of Jesus. A lot of biblical events are depicted in the artworks here. Really amazing.

I spent quite a long time in this room, reading most of the descriptions. I just move pass the next room of Special Exhibition as it does not interest me. The doorways led me to the halls with arts from the Victorian time.

Lastly, it's the Impressionists room. Not much special but was attracted to the painting below. I did asked the assistant, and he said that because it was painted on a paper, it needs shelter from light to prevent the colour from fading. Want to know what's behind the veil? Go visit yourself, entrance is free. LOLx

After ending the tour on the first floor, I went back down to the ground floor where there is this sculpture room. Very randomly arranged room, nothing special. I did read some of the descriptions.

Ending the tour with satisfaction and like to recommend it for all my friends in UK, maybe not all. =.= One thing I realised is that the girls depicted in paintings and sculptures have tummy. So girls, don't worry so much about yours. LOLx

Oh, please remember to sign the petition to save the museums in Liverpool when you are there. ^^
