Day 84 (31): I Was Wrong

Again, I wanted to say "time flies". It's really fast, one full month passed and another two to go before the finals. It's kind of creepy that things suddenly moving so fast. In no time, I might be lying in my grave already. =.=

One month ago, I depicted a temperate summer in this four-season country. I was wrong. Stepping down the plane, it was hell cold for a week before the sun finally shines. It all seems to going to end now with the cold breeze starting to attack again. Vampires must be suffering here with the daylight of 18 hours.

One month ago, I depicted state of art buildings filling the country. I was wrong. There's no skyscraper in this Sheffield, not even in London. There tallest structures in every city is their wheel. =.= The buildings here are quite ugly, not like in Malaysia, where building comes in different shapes and colours. Thanks to Mahathir.

One month ago, I thought the daily expenditure in this country would rob me poor. I was wrong. As of today, I had spent GBP220.69. That's about RM1100 after conversion, just a little over my Malaysian spending. This expenditure had also included tours to York, Manchester, Stonehenge, London and Whitby. Living cost high? Certainly not. RM1100 is not even enough for me to travel to five tourist destinations.

One month ago, I thought I will play around, and not studying, here. I was wrong. Till today, I had not missed a class due to laziness and is quite pressured by assignments, thou not as serious as my comrades. Still, I'm fighting for my my first degree honour and my RM300 prize money. The three weeks to come will be an important period for that.

One month ago, I see myself wondering the streets of UK. I was wrong. Here I am, facing the monitor as usual. Updating blog, networking on Facebook, movies on PPS. What a life, the same as my Malaysian lifestyle.

One month ago, I see myself hanging around more with my Group 1 classmates here. I was wrong. They were more cold-blooded than I expected. I was more comfortable with the people in Group 2. I never see that coming.

At least I got one thing right. I know I will miss Malaysia, and I miss everything there now. My family, my kitties, my friends, my authority. The moon, the food, the everything. One month ago, I was expecting to worship a foreign nation. Now, I see the grass is the same everywhere, or maybe I just like the Malaysian grass more.

Well, UK is not that bad. They have nice, kind and polite people who don't get tired of smiling. That's my first month of my UK life. I wish life gets better.
