After a tired day exploring the gardens of Chatsworth House, today we continued our journey to Castleton, an hour away attraction from Sheffield. It is one of the entrance to the Peak District, one of many national parks in the UK.

We set out our journey early in the morning, 7:10AM gathering time at common room, and walked to Sheffield Interchange to catch a 7:50AM bus. The one hour journey seems fast and we reached this small town a bit too early. It was so quiet and we need to wait until 9:30AM for the visitor center to open its door.

After visiting the visitor center, which also houses a museum detailing the culture of the town and also the composition of the Peak District highlands, we made our decision to walk into the wilderness. Wandering to nowhere. We got pass Peak Cavern (known as the Devil's Arse, before name changed by Queen V due to inappropriateness) but did not went in due to time constraint.
We reached another cavern - Speedwell Cavern, entered it after paying the GBP7.25 fees. The trip down under is short but worth the dollar spent. First, we wore this safety helmet, which crucial in saving our heads. Banged my head so many times just walking down the 105-step stairs. We reached down the cavern and there was this boat waiting for us. It was cold down there, with a notice indicating it may be as low as 10°C.
We got onto our boat and it moved towards the inner part of the cave, with our guide, Ben, describing the parts of the cave. We reached the deepest part of it and was left for dead there as the boat left us for another group. =.= We will be dead if no one returns. LOLx The chamber that we set foot on is 840 feet below the surface. That's more than half the height of Petronas Twin Towers. @@

We finally got our boat back and returned to the surface. The way up was quite scary, fearing a fall and I might roll down the stairs. LOLx The steps are really slippery. Coming out of the cave, we were greeted by the warm wind. We continued our way up the sloppy hill.

The way up looks short, but seems unreachable. Rested a few times on my way up, taking some photos of the town, and the greenery surrounding it. ^^ Just an awesome view.

Reached the top at almost noon. Took quite many photos, not as much as others, who even go topless on this windy highland. =.= I'm reluctant to show off my tummy, and it's also hell cold with the wind so strong.

We made our way down and I had some snack to fill up my empty stomach. We first wanted to visit this Peveril Castle at the hill top overseeing the town, but was put off by the entrance fees. We went back to roam around the town before boarding our bus back home.

Reached home and took a bath. I was so tired that I just fell asleep after the bath and missed my dinner together with flatmates. Really thanked them for keeping a plate of rice for me. ^^ Now, just finish finding some articles and wanted to start reading, preparing for my assignment tomorrow.
It has been more than a week since I actually see her in real person. Future seems bleak but I'm still waiting.
