Today, our group of students from TARC embarked on our first day tour in UK, to the heritage city of York. Woke up at 6AM to get ready and gathered at the foyer at about 6:45AM.

We waited for the bus and after the bus arrived, we continue to waited for the other bus. Started our journey at about 8AM. =.= It took us about an hour and a half to travel from our hostel to the coaches drop off point in York.

When we started our journey, our tour leader briefed us about what to visit in York and our first destination, the Clifford's Tower. That was quite an ancient tower rich with history. I am lazy to type out the history here. You guys just go wiki it out. =.=

Nevertheless, I did took a picture that details (not so detail) the history of the tower. Quite brief but should be enough for you all. There is also a stone carvings detailing that Jews community once sought protection here before taking their own lives rather than facing a mob.

We also took many pictures at the surrounding areas of the tower. The lawn here is so green, but there's some duck poop. LOLx The girls didn't get to ss on the lawn. One of the building here is the York Crown Court. The picture of me here is not with me. I will try to share it in Facebook when I got it.

We then continue our walk up the streets where there are shops selling clothes and accessories. What a disaster for me. T.T I followed the girls on the shopping walks before we finally ended at the York Minster, one of the largest Gothic Cathedral in Europe. Visiting the outer part and the lobby is free but the public need to pay for entrance to the main building and ascent to the tower. We did not pay and just take some crappy pictures. =.=

We strolled around the street before ended up in the Museum Gardens. Many Brits took their families for picnics here, and it is not a scene you can find in Malaysia. There are also weddings everywhere. The people here wed almost everyday, at least based on what we had encountered. We walked pass the city walls and also River Ouse to reach the National Railway Museum.

On our way there, we stopped at the Memorial Gardens remembering the war heroes of WWI and WWII. The stop there was brief but still, many pictures was taken. Continue our walk to the museum. We passed a tunnel and finally get to see the building.

The museum was quite huge. It should be, as it has to store so many rail coaches. =.= With the entry is without fees, I did not expect much and it is proved to be true. Some information about different trains, past and present, around the world. That's all.

We then return to our coach at 4:30PM and started our journey back at 5PM. The experience in York is quite valuable although I will rate it as just so so. Hopefully next week trip to OT will be a better one.
Now, I just want to have a good night sleep and let's see what the world will bring me tomorrow. I missed the England v USA match because I am too tired to walk out of this room. XP
