"The Spy Next Door" was a movie I kept my eye on since its production and a series of unfortunate event caused me not being able to watch it on its premier and also the whole screening period.
Firstly, the premier falls during my final semester exam period. Then the girl who I wanted to ask for a movie date watched this show already. And now, after almost four months since its premier, I got to watch it in PPS.

This is a martial arts action comedy featuring our Chinese action hero, Jackie Chan, although martial arts is quite little being used. Unless "Haiya!" after every fight scene is considered martial arts, it is pure action. =.= Never mind that, the movie is just hilarious with nice action scenes. A worthy movie to spent on in cinema, a really worthy 90 minutes.
The story revolves around Jackie's Bob, who wanted to retired and settle down with his divorced neighbour, Gillian. The main female character was portrayed by the pretty and sexy (especially in her Halloween outfit) Amber Valletta, the lead lady in Gamer. Bob had some issues with the pretty lady's kids and got a chance to get close with the children when Gillian's dad found himself in hospital, in another state.

The kids are Farren, Ian and Nora. Farren was played by Madeline Carroll, the kid from Swing Vote two years ago. Wow, what a lady she is now although just 14 years old. Then there was this geek-ily cool Ian, highly intelligent and knowledgeable. Lastly, it's the lovely little angel, who quite innocent and just love pink. =.=

The problem of retired life started when Ian downloaded a file containing the bad guy's information. They were traced and hunted, which lead to the action part. As usual, Jackie with his funny action moves beats the bad guys and wins the girl (As heroes always do in western movies).

Other than action, it also shows the love for family members, related or not. In one part where Farren and Bob chats, Bob said "Family isn't whose blood you carry, it's who you love and who loves you". That's not so traditional Chinese saying, which blood is thicker than water. LOLx Blood does matter more.
Tatiana (Katherine Boecher) was worth watching. Although her character is quite stale but she's still sexy. There is also a minor role for Billy Ray Cyrus, the country singer and father of Hannah Montana (Ops, Miley Cyrus~), who is a spy partner to Bob. And also comedian George Lopez, as a rouge spy.

Quite a nice movie. Not much "Ohm" but it will be a good watch and it is available in PPS. Recommended.
