Finally, I got to watch How To Train Your Dragon, on PPS as usual. Was going to watch in cinema but my family members had all seen it when I returned to Melaka. So, watch it now as I stumbled upon it in PPS. I don't really mind whether it is 2D or 3D, I only care about the plot. Overall, the story is really nice. I can't find any fault in the movie. Thumbs up.

The story revolves around the Vikings in the island of Burk and their presumed enemies, the dragons. For 300 years, both side fights, for their own survival. The lead character, Hiccup was no typical Viking, not muscular and bad in battles. One night he hunted down a rare dragon, the Night Fury, who I think is cool with its black body resembling carbon fiber texture. It also blows blue fire which looks like the modern plasma gun, which is quite different from conventional red-fireball-blowing dragons.

Hiccup did not kill the dragon and they became friends. The cute "little" creature is named Toothless (it hide its teeth =.=). The story move on smoothly, without much breaking points or dull moments. This really give the continuous effect which attract me to finish the story. The story enter its climax as the Vikings encounter a giant dragon. They fought and won. Typical happy ending but I am satisfied with it.

The story also portrayed two issues. One would be we human are judgmental before understanding others. The Vikings attack the dragons without trying to find out why they attack the village. Another is about the daddy issues. Typical issue faced by most children nowadays. A son will never performed good enough to impress his dad. Me for example felt it through my own experience and now I don't even care to impress him. =.=

I think the show might be better in 3D with few-storey-tall screen and state of art sound system. But watching it in front of the monitor is as good, thus recommend it to all viewers. ^^
